Top 5 Restaurants in Broadway, New York

Whether you’re planning to see a Broadway show or you’re on your dream trip to New York City, there’s a chance you’ll end up in the busy streets of Broadway. It can be quite overwhelming when presented with the choice of where to eat, especially having a long day walking around the city!

Here are my suggestions on the best places to eat when you find yourself hungry in Broadway –

Ellen’s Stardust Diner

An institution in NY – a must-visit if you’re into all things 1950’s retro! Ellen’s Stardust Diner is home to the world-famous singing waitstaff – the stardusters! Don’t be surprised if you see some of the waiting staff starring in you’re favourite broadway show in years to come! It happens often! You’ll enjoy a delicious diner menu, from maple bacon pancakes, breakfast burrito and a rainbow bagel to a range of omelets and chicken waffles! You cannot book, so go early before mealtimes to try and get a space. You will not be disappointed!

Osteria Al Doge

For a bit of sophistication, try Osteria Al Doge, a well-loved Venetian restaurant in the theatre district. Enjoy fresh, authentic Italian food with a cool glass of vino Bianco before heading off to see a show. You can book a reservation over at Open Table. Book early to avoid disappointment, especially if there’s a how on nearby as it will get busy. Osteria Al Doge also serves vegan food and is a brilliant place for families.

Kochi

If you’re looking to go all out before seeing a show, Kochi is the place. Kochi, meaning ‘skewer’ in Korean is a Michelin-starred restaurant that mixes Korean flavours with a street-food inspired twist. Kochi is chef Shim’s first restaurant and it’s not one to be missed if you’re into fine flavours. You can enjoy a nine-course tasting menu where you’re be presented with exquisite Korean fine-dining. Definitely one for the bucket list.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

You can’t go to NYC without visiting Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for a bucket load of shrimp! Based on Bubba Gump in the hit movie, Forrest Gump, this fun restaurant experience is not one to be looked over. Featuring rustic, down-home decor from the movie set in Alabama, with plenty of movie memorabilia dotted around. The menu is full of shrimp-based dinners, from Po Boys to pork ribs and shrimp and Shrimpers Heaven – a plate full of shrimp. Don’t worry though, if you’re not a shrimp-lover, you’ll find many all-American classics here too.

Utsav

If you’re looking for somewhere where you might not need to wait for a table, Utsav’s massive space is the place to go! Located on a skywalk between two buildings, where you’ll find floor to ceiling glass windows and the most brilliant view. The Indo-Chinese menu will not disappoint, from grilled tandoori lamb chops and warming fish masala to a mutton bhuna and jalapeño cheese naan. This casual restaurant does lunch specials too.
