Easter Basket Ideas For A 2-Year-Old Boy

Easter is fast approaching and everyone is on the hunt for chocolate treats and sweet little things to fill Easter baskets for their little ones! If that’s you, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Easter basket ideas for 2-year old boys (or girls!) Most of these are gender neutral and I’m all for boys wearing pink or playing with dolls!

I love planning Easter egg hunts for my boy in our back garden. From planning the best places to hide to finding the cutest little basket – sometimes I think I love it more than him! There’s so much on the market currently, so I hope this post helps narrow your search down a little. I hope it gives you a little bit of inspiration too.

Favorite Easter Basket Stuffers

Most of the ideas in this post are aimed at 2 year olds but a lot of the things would also be ok for ages 1-3. As the parent, you decide. This post is just a guide (apart from any safety reasons!)

What to put in an Easter basket?

It can be quite daunting when you’re starting to compile your very first Easter basket when your kids are very young. It’s nice to keep them varied rather than just stuffing them with chocolate and sweets. Here‘s a list of ideas to get you started –

1. An Easter egg or chocolate bunny

2. An Easter board book

3. Something to wear – maybe some bunny pajamas or some wellie boots/rain coat for the wet spring season!

4. An Easter bunny cuddly toy

5. An Easter craft/activity books/Sticker book

6. Bath toys

7. A pretend play Easter toy

8. Bubble wand

Where can I find the perfect baby Easter basket?

The first place I would suggest looking, is charity shops/thrift stores. They tend to pull out all their Easter baskets and Easter related bits around the end of February, so I would head down their asap to try and nab a bargain.

If you want to get crafty, Homemade on our Homestead has a free pattern for a cute, little fabric Easter basket. Making your own Easter basket not only saves money but you’ll be able to use it year on year and your little one will love it all the more. Shops like Hobbycraft also sell all the bits you’ll need to put together an Easter basket, from shredded tissue paper to fillable plastic eggs.

On a budget? Baker Ross sell pre-folded cardboard baskets which your little one could decorate – a lovely activity to do together in lead up to the Easter holidays. The White Company also sell a set of 4 foldable Easter bunny baskets. Brilliant if you have more than one child.

If you’re not crafty but want a touch of the homemade, places like Etsy sell homemade Easter baskets created by talented sellers. I really like these personalised gingham Easter baskets – so cute for little ones!

For a personalised touch, Fred and Robin sell the sweetest wicker basket which comes with a personalised tag. A basket you’ll treasure for years to come.

Looking at other online stores, John Lewis sell a very cute wicker bunny basket, as well as Olli Ella‘s rattan hutch basket for something a bit different. Daylesford have also treated us with their adorable Easter egg hunt basket which comes with the chocolate you‘ll need for the hunt too.
